  1. LYNX231B a beta version of Lynx v.2-3-1.  This is a full-page text
  2. only browser for the World Wide Web (WWW).  Ported to the Atari world
  3. from UNIX by Christer Gustavsson this program allows you to use all of
  4. the hypertext functions of the WWW but not any of the graphics (yet!).
  5. According to Christer this program will allow you to browse files on
  6. your own system without MiNT and MiNTNet installed (MiNTNet is a
  7. networking extension to provide sockets and slip/ppp), but to use it
  8. for external files you must have those two installed.  Christer
  9. mentions a FAQ he wrote about getting started with MiNTNet (it's on
  10. Mark Smith's WWW page for all of you Internet browsers), but I
  11. haven't downloaded that yet.  You'll find that there is no extension
  12. to the program file in this archive because it is usually used from a
  13. shell (tcsh for instance), and this means that it is a .ttp-file.
  14. The program and docs are in English, but they are the kind (to me at
  15. least) that don't make any sense at all!  It's one of those, "You
  16. have to know what you are doing before you can find out what to do!"
  17. It works with a four meg Falcon and briefly runs on my STE before
  18. exiting (I guess because I don't know what to type next!).
